Explore Haga

Haga is one of the best places to begin.

Once a working-class district outside the original city walls, it is now among Gothenburg’s most visited neighbourhoods. Its cobbled main street, Haga Nygata, is lined with cafés, small shops and well-preserved buildings.

The district is ideal for a slow morning or afternoon. Browse independent shops, stop for fika and then walk up towards Skansen Kronan, the 17th-century defensive fortification on the hill above Haga.

The climb is relatively short, and the reward is one of the best views over central Gothenburg.
